Audio/Visual Technician  (part Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION


Position Title: Audio/Visual Technician


Supervisor: Church Administrator under the direction of the Worship Pastor  


Principal Function:  To manage the operation of audio/visual equipment during Praise Team rehearsals, worship services and special events.


Wynnbrook Baptist Church is seeking a knowledgeable, punctual, and detail-oriented person to manage the operation of audio/visual equipment during Praise Team rehearsals, worship services and special events. The audio/visual technician will be responsible for training other members of the media team in the essentials for operating equipment and mixing sound during worship. The audio/visual technician will be an active member of our media team.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Pastor, Praise Team, and Worship Leader to ensure their goals for music and sound levels for each service are met.
  • Establish and foster positive relationships with church staff, volunteers, and members.
  • Record, mix, and edit music and audio during worship services and special events.
  • On Wednesdays and Sundays, at least 1 hour prior to rehearsal, set up the sanctuary for musicians and install any necessary equipment such as microphones, monitors, wires, and cables. Resolve any equipment issues and perform sound checks, including gain settings, monitor mixes, and proper volume settings.
  • Prior to Wednesday night rehearsal, ensure that all song lyrics are loaded in ProPresenter
  • During the church services, monitor and adjust sound levels and sound quality to accommodate music and the sermon, including the audio feed to the Live Stream broadcast.
  • After services and rehearsals, break down the stage and ensure equipment is shut down and properly stored.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • A heart for worshipping God and serving others
  • Able to work in team settings and take directions
  • Leadership skills for directing a team of volunteers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think quickly and react/trouble shoot properly in high stress situations
  • Strong attentiveness and listening skills
  • Experience serving in a church or worship setting is preferred
  • Knowledge and ability to operate soundboards, computers, cameras
  • Solid understanding of industry standard practices and techniques
  • Preferred knowledge of ProPresenter


Time Commitment: 7 – 8 hrs/wk, which include Sundays (8:30am – 12:30pm) and Wednesdays (5pm – 8pm), and as needed for special events.
